Noise: Minor Update

The new updated Noise will now show the similar songs in your music library to the song that you are playing 

Notice that there is number of song indicator beside it

Sound Menu - Minor Update

The sound menu undergo a minor update

It will display the play, back and forward button although the music player is not running

Noise - Miscellaneous

A couple of few miscellaneous update on Noise

The granite window theming was fixed for property view

The side panel star rating is black in color

And last but not least, the Last.fm plugin is still not stable to be use

For the time being, please do not use the last.fm plugin on Noise !

Noise Update - Extensions

In the latest update, when you open up preference you will see this new entry on the menu

Yes, it is the extension menu, currently, extensions has landed on Noise at the latest updates which allows developers to develop extensions for Noise. 

Only 4 extensions are available now

Beatbox 0.5 and surprises

Few hours ago, Beatbox 0.5 was released fresh from the oven from Beatbox PPA

Here are some changes made:

A new Now Playing view which displays artist's biodata, album and song info, lyrics, as well as list of songs from the album and similar artists tag.

If a video is being selected to be played, Now Playing view will show the video instead of infos

Some other features and improvements are:

- Duplicate remove which scans the library and remove duplication

- Easy translation; almost all of Beatbox is translatable

- Hasty import, much more speedier library import and no pause

- Embedded album art loads faster

- Unity integration, such as quicklist and progress bar

- Volume in equalizer

- Saved/Remembered last view

- Bug fixes on crashes

Another big announcement is that, Victor Eduardo, the previous developer of Beatbox and now the lead developer of Noise will be rejoining into the Beatbox development team to merge Victor's changes from Noise into Beatbox for 0.6. We can anticipate an even awesome music player when Beatbox hits 0.7 !

New Subwindow Update: Noise

This is how it should be, though some bug is present on the rating

Though, it is still in it's early stage and it will look perfect once everything is in place

The new color matches the overall eGTK theme

(Though I still prefer dark variant)

Beatbox vs Noise

Beatbox, a forked music player from elementary os had been updated to 0.4

Though there is not much of differences between Beatbox and Noise, both only differs by:

- Music view

- Search bar

- and the name of course

Though at this time, Beatbox's search bar looks much more sleeker than Noise as it has a drop down menu which shows common element in your search keyword

Noise plays video

I'm not sure if everyone know this, but I discovered that Noise do play videos which are in mp4 format

Although the window pop out for the video does not contain any play buttons or fullscreen and such, maybe further development can make it happen

Though there is no plan on making Noise a music and also a video player

Here is the screen capture, sorry for the video, I can't find any English video in mp4 in my library

From what I heard from a Youtube user, this feature was implemented some time ago and it can play any video that gstreamer supports :)

Pantheon Notify

Previously, only a mockup by DanRabbit, called Skinny has now become real and it is available in elementary daily ppa as pantheon-notify !

All i can say is "Nothing is much sleeker than elementary theme !"
