Plank - Unity API

Plank now supports even more Unity-specific feature

An example: Google Chrome download progress bar will now be shown with a number of downloads notification on Plank

I changed my Google Chrome icon (not biased but need something to suit the whole elementary icon theme)

A few wishlist has been submitted to Plank:

- Support for libunity dynamic quicklist
- Draw optional shadow on icons

Gala - Plank Intergration

Previously, Tom Beckmann showcased how Gala will be integrating with Plank on highlighting the application icon on Plank

Recently, the update from the daily build ppa came packed with this feature, the performance is smooth and you can see how Plank behaves when switching windows

Plank - Mockup by Shnatsel

Due to the usability flaw of intellihide and autohide, Shnatsel came up with the idea of semi-hiding Plank. Rather than wasting 48px of space, this idea uses only half and it reveals once mouse is being hovered to the dock.

Other than that, this layout can keep notification badges in focus so that the user will be notified.

This is how the desktop looks like when it is empty.

This idea seems to be much more productive and taking the dock usability and features to the next level. However, there is no word on whether this idea is going to be deploy on Plank.

What do you guys think about this idea ?

Plank - New Default Theme

Plank has been updated with a new default theme

It may change but it looks great. Though it is harder to see which application is being opened.

Looks great in both light and dark wallpapers !
