elementary studio

elementary studio is a coding app designed and written by Chris Timerlake

From first glance, it is a pretty straight forward app for you to build applications or manage your project all in one place

Here are some of the screenshot which is subject to change

It supports several project types such as Vala, Android, C, C++, Mono and such. There is also plugin support which will add to project types.

elementary studio is scheduled to release in early March

Beta 2 incoming?

Guide for Beta adopters !

Some of you might have installed Beta 1 as we all have been waiting for a long time for elementary os to see the light

Here is a guide compiled by teemperor and edited by the official elementary team

Happy tweaking !

Bouquin - Word processor designed for Pantheon Desktop

After countless of comment reading, quite a number of users complained that there is no office suite being bundled together in elementary os

The reason is because elementary is aiming for simple and light as officesuite may increase the iso size of the operating system. However, the user is given freedom to install it from Software Center

Bouquin is a word processor based on the infamous Abiword which is being "tweaked" or "designed" for the Pantheon Desktop

First commit has been pushed from the launchpad however don't expect it to reach the daily ppa that soon

Stay tuned

Foto - Simple Image Viewer and Album Manager

Foto as described from the launchpad page here is a simple image viewer and an album manager which we may assume it to be lightweight as it is being written in Vala

Could this means it will replace Shotwell ?

Beta 1: Installation Process

Bloggin' right from the live installation of elementary os Beta 1

This is how it looks like from the live environment in Beta 1

First look of the installer

An option for you to choose whether or not to install updates and third party software

You can install it along side with another os, delete/erase the disk and install elementary os or choose specific partition (that's what I chose) Notice the branding?

Choose your region or country

Setup your user account and

it's installing ! A small window will pop out showing the installation progress

After the installation, you may install Ubuntu Restricted Extras as elementary does not include this in the ISO

Usability: So far there is no issue however at the time of writing, Noise and Maya does not function properly

-Stay tuned-
